STATEMENT ISSUED BY US REPRESENTATIVE JARED HUFFMAN TODAY.

The actions taken to incite insurrection at the Capitol last week demand accountability. Here is everything I have joined so far to #DefendOurDemocracy and hold Trump accountable.

✅Impeachment Articles which were introduced today along with 213 colleagues. I expect to vote on these this week.
✅Resolution to invoke the 25th Amendment and immediately remove Trump. House GOP members blocked this from passing unanimously today, so we will hold a recorded vote this week.
✅Letter calling on DOJ to charge perpetrators
✅Resolution to sanction & remove lawmakers who supported insurrection
✅Letter calling for investigation into why Capitol Police allowed rioters to enter the Capitol, while peaceful BLM protesters were met with militarized presence
✅Letter calling for inquiry into National Guard’s delayed response
✅Letter urging that Congress remain in session to address the assault on our democracy
✅Letter calling for the creation of an independent commission to investigate the security breach and USCP failures
✅Letter to FBI on the role of online extremism in the insurrection

We will hold this president and his enablers accountable.
